Kazakhstan’s Civil Aviation Committee is working on launching flights to Singapore and Shanghai in cooperation with local and foreign airlines, QazMonitor reports citing Tengri Travel.

Almaty–Singapore: In response to an official request from Tengri Travel, the Committee provided details on Almaty–Singapore route flights.

“The Committee, together with Kazakh and foreign airlines, constantly works to increase the number of international flights and expand the geography of flights to and from Kazakhstan. Air Astana is considering opening flights to Singapore from Almaty with a frequency of two flights per week from the autumn–winter season 2024/2025,”

the Committee said.

Shanghai: The Committee also commented on opening flights to Shanghai.

“The matter [...] is under consideration by Kazakh airline companies. Specific dates for the launch of flights will be announced additionally,”

the Committee noted.

Recap: In May 2023, the Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan held talks with their Singaporean counterparts regarding opening direct flights between the two countries. During the negotiations, the Kazakh side invited Singaporean airlines to take advantage of the open skies regime in Kazakhstan, including the Fifth Freedom of the Air, which permits flights from other states to land and take off from the territory of Kazakhstan, including traffic from or destined to a third state.
