Ambassador of Italy in Kazakhstan Marco Alberti announced the opening of direct flights between Almaty and Milan at the end of May 2022, Tengritravel reports.
"The direct flight Milan - Almaty - Milan will be carried out on a weekly basis from the end of May 2022 by a private Italian airline Neos," said the ambassador at a closed meeting with reporters in Nur-Sultan.
To date, there are no direct flights from Kazakhstan to Italy and from Italy to Kazakhstan.
This year is the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Italy. In this regard, the embassy intends to hold a number of social and cultural events throughout the year, the launch of the flights being one of these events.
