Kazakhstan and China have mutually agreed to implement a visa-free regime between the two countries, effective from November 10, QazMonitor reports citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In May of this year, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a 30-day mutual visa-free agreement during his official visit to China.

This agreement will facilitate visa-free travel for private and business purposes, tourism, medical treatment, international road transport, and transit. The total duration of stay must not exceed 90 calendar days within a 180-day period.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that the 30-day visa-free regime does not grant Chinese citizens the right to live or work in Kazakhstan; it is primarily intended for tourists and Kazakh citizens who frequently travel to China for work-related purposes.

In Q1 2023, Kazakhstan hosted 39,000 Chinese citizens in various accommodations, representing 7.6% of all registered foreigners during that period.
