Kazakh low-cost carrier FlyArystan will launch biweekly flights between Almaty and Kutaisi on June 4, QazMonitor reports.
The airline has already operated flights from Kutaisi airport to several cities in Kazakhstan — Astana, Aktau, Atyrau, and Shymkent. The latest addition will be scheduled to operate on Wednesdays and Sundays.
"Central Asia is a new direction for Kutaisi Airport and for the Imereti region in general. The successful operations of FlyArystan have shown that our region is a strategically important and attractive destination for Kazakhstan”, said the director of the United Airports of Georgia Irakli Karkashadze.
The Georgian side is expecting the increase in flight frequency to attract more tourists from Kazakhstan to Georgia.
