Ambassador of Kazakhstan Nurbakh Rustemov met with the Secretary of State for Strategic Affairs at the Romanian MFA Iulian Fota to discuss this year’s event schedule, QazMonitor reports citing Delovoy Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh Government’s top priority in Europe is to strengthen economic, trade, and investment ties between the country and the European Union, the ambassador said.
Mr. Fota replied that Kazakhstan is an important trading partner in Romania and the European Union. He also noted that the high-level visits organized for 2023 will give an impetus to expanding negotiations on energy and logistics issues.
The mutual trade turnover between Romania and Kazakhstan last year exceeded $2 billion, which shows promising potential for the diversification of trade in the future.
At the end of the conversation, the parties exchanged views on plans for holding economic and cultural events for the current year.
