The ministry of digital development, innovation and aerospace industry of Kazakhstan has shared its plans to launch 5G Internet in the country, Kapital reports. Telecom operators have already set up test trials in Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent.
In the city of Nur-Sultan, the national operator Kazakhtelecom JSC has already cast its pilot 5G network on the territory of the “Astana Hub” International Technopark of IT Startups.
The testing site in Shymkent 5G was announced to be the shopping center "Shymkent Plaza". The network is at the stage of deployment.
In Almaty, three telecom networks have launched test trials of the 5G technology in several locations of the city:
- in the office center "Kaisar Plaza" on 115 Zheltoksan street, Panfilov street starting from the Kazakh national opera and ballet theater named after Abai until Tole bi street, and the high-mountain sports complex "Medeu" by Mobile Telecom-Service LLP;
- in the Arbat area, at the intersection between Nazarbayev and Zhibek Zholy avenues by Kcell JSC;
- in the NARXOZ University on 55 Zhandosov Street and the Grand Alatau Business Center on 28B Timiryazev Street, by Kar-Tel LLP.
The launch of 5G technology in other regional cities is planned to take place between 2023 and 2025.
