Mexican boxer Saul "Canelo" Alvarez announced his third fight with Kazakhstan's Gennady Golovkin, Vesti.kz reports.
The possibility of a concluding 'trilogy' fight became known in early spring. For that, Golovkin had to knock out Japanese Ryota Murata and Alvarez defeated Bivola.
"In the next few days we'll announce a September fight; of course it will be against GGG because we already had that agreement, but I'll also fight Bivol again (later)," ESPN KnockOut quoted Alvarez.
The third Canelo - GGG fight is expected to take place on September 17. The venue is yet to be announced. The two previous fights between the boxers took place in Las Vegas - the first in September 2017 ended with a scandalous draw, and the second, a year later, with the victory of the Mexican boxer.
The two boxers are expected to compete in the super-middleweight division, in which Alvarez is the all-around champion. Gennady Golovkin is the WBA Super, IBF and IBO middleweight champion of the world.
