Bulat Aknazarov, an expat from Kazakhstan living in the UAE, won $1 million in the latest Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire promotion held on October 26 at Dubai International Airport, QazMonitor reports citing Dubai Duty Free.
Dubai Duty Free, founded in 1983, is one of the biggest travel retail operators in the world with recorded annual sales of $976 million in 2021. Every two to three weeks, the retailer’s Millennium Millionaire promotion offers one out of 5,000 ticket buyers a chance to win $1 million.
Aknazarov is the fifth Kazakh national to have won $1 million since the start of the Millennium Millionaire promotion in 1999.
Officials were unable to reach him on Wednesday to share the good news.
Two other winners also walked away with a luxury car and motorbike.
