Eleven presidents will arrive this week in Astana for the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) summit, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit and the Central Asia-Russia summit, QazMonitor reports.
The CICA summit will take place from October 12-13. According to foreign ministry spokesperson Alibek Smadiyarov, presidents from eleven countries will be participating, including Azerbaijan, Iraq, Iran, Qatar, the Kyrgyz Republic, Palestine, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkiye, and Uzbekistan. Vietnam at the level of the vice president and from China - the deputy chair.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is expected to participate as a CICA observer.
The CIS summit will take place from October 12-14 and will be attended by leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
The Central Asia-Russia summit will be held on October 14, the same day as the Council of the Heads of CIS.
During the same period of October 11-15, there will be three state visits by the leaders of Qatar, Turkiye, and Turkmenistan.
