Minister of Digital Development Bagdat Mussin stated that about 70 thousand Russian citizens have received individual identification numbers since September 21, QazMonitor reports citing Interfax Kazakhstan.

Russians, immediately after arrival, waited in hour-long lines to receive a social security number primarily to open bank accounts in Kazakhstan. Mussin says it also helps the Government keep a record of lawbreakers.

According to Internal Affairs Minister Marat Akhmetzhanov, since Putin’s announcement of partial military mobilization, 200,000 Russian citizens entered Kazakhstan. Three hundred eighty two applied for permanent residence in Kazakhstan and 64 people applied for Kazakh citizenship.
