Twenty-one-time Grand Slam champion and former world no.1 Novak Djokovic has arrived in Kazakhstan to play at the ATP 500 Astana Open, QazMonitor reports.
Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, whose head personally invited Djokovic to participate in the tournament, published images of the Serbian athlete’s arrival at the airport on Instagram.
ATP 500 Astana Open starts today, October 3, and will run until the 9th. Djokovic is expected to step onto the court on October 4 for a match against Chilean player Cristian Garin.
Other stars, such as Carlos Alcaraz, Daniel Medvedev, Marin Cilic, Stanislaus Wawrinka, and Andy Murray, are also listed in the tournament.
Wawrinka, who won the Grand Slam three times, was knocked out of the tournament today in his match against French player and current world no.22 Adrian Mannarino.
