Kazakh athletes won a total of 7 medals at the IV World Nomad Games in Iznik, Turkey, QazMonitor reports.
IV World Nomad Games took place from September 29 to October 2 and gathered over 3000 athletes from 80 countries who competed in various traditional sports and games of the Turkic people.
The first medal to Team Kazakhstan was earned by Marat Nygmatullayev, reports Kazinform. The wrestler competed in Kazakh Kuresi event, where he managed to defeat an opponent from Mongolia in the final match.
The Kazakh Kokpar team managed to maintain their winning streak from the previous years and beat the Kyrgyz team with a score of 4:3. On their way to gold, Kazakh athletes claimed an overwhelming victory over Uzbekistan with a score of 8:1 and Mongolia with a 12:2.
Khabar 24 reports that Kazakhstan’s wrestling team won 5 medals. Zarina Saripova brought home the third gold medal with Elaman Koishybaev and Rauza Nurmuhammetova each taking silver and Maksat Isagabylov and Moldir Azamat earning bronze.
