Tech parks of Organization of Turkic States (OTS) members signed a memorandum of cooperation during a panel session at Digital Bridge 2022 yesterday in Astana, QazMonitor reports.

The document was signed by Sabah Lab (Azerbaijan), HTP (Kyrgyzstan), Bilisim Vadisi (Turkey), Bilkent Cyberpark (Turkey), IT Park Uzbekistan (Uzbekistan), and Astana Hub (Kazakhstan).

The agreement is aimed at the joint development of the ICT and innovation ecosystem in the region. It was concluded under the initiative of Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who at the Eighth summit of the OTS offered to create a Center of Modern Technoparks of Turkic Countries.

"We will consider the possibility of creating an Association of modern technoparks of the Organization in the region and integrating IT platforms of the key IT technoparks of the Turkic countries. And we also intend to discuss the implementation of the "Digital Nomad" IT residency program, which aims to increase the mobility of IT start-ups among the member states of the Organization," said Magzhan Madiev, CEO of Astana Hub.

"I believe that this platform is one of the best initiatives that bring Central Asian countries together. For the global market, our countries are very small, but together, as Turkic-speaking countries, we can reach a higher level. In terms of marketing, it is much easier for us to get noticed. We are not competing here, we are complementing and improving each other - each country has its own unique qualities and technologies," said Chubak Temirov, director of the High Technology Park in Kyrgyzstan.

As part of the forum, an exhibition of technology parks is taking place, featuring 13 technology parks from various countries, such as Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Palestine, and Kazakhstan.
