Minister of Culture and Sports Dauren Abayev met with Saudi Arabian Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah to agree on cooperation in the field of tourism, QazMonitor reports citing the ministry of culture and sports.

During the meeting, it was announced that the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (also known as Ithra) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will organize an exhibition in Kazakhstan, which will present the life of the Prophet Muhammad (saw).

The Saudi Arabian minister also said to expect a large influx of tourists from Saudi Arabia in Kazakhstan.

Currently, the citizens of Saudi Arabia are able to enjoy a visa-free regime for 30 days. This has influenced the flow of tourists from Saudi Arabia to double compared to last year, according to Minister Abayev.

Two Road shows for Saudi tour operators were held this year.

“Now we are seeing a great interest from tourists from Saudi Arabia,” Minister Abayev said. “We are ready to jointly develop projects on the development of the industry.”

The meeting was held at the National Museum of Kazakhstan, where the Saudi Arabian delegation was acquainted with unique exhibits and a video presentation about tourism in Kazakhstan.

“We are delighted with the beauty of the nature of Kazakhstan. Yesterday we managed to visit Shymbulak and met our citizens who rest here. In fact, Saudis are some of the most attractive tourists. There are many historical places in Kazakhstan. We intend to do our best to create the necessary conditions for tourism development"
