The Chinese government will transfer equipment worth 11.15 million yuan for the quality inspection laboratory in the East Kazakhstan region, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the ministry of agriculture.
The agreement was signed during the state visit of President Xi Jinping to Kazakhstan by Yerbol Karashukeyev, minister of agriculture, and Zhang Xiao, Chinese ambassador in Kazakhstan.
According to the ministry of agriculture, the establishment of a laboratory accredited by PRC standards will help increase exports of domestic agricultural products to China. Kazakhstan is also interested in increasing the supply of deep-processing goods, feed and additives, meat products, and dairy products.
Following the reports on the first 7 months of 2022, the Kazakh-Chinese trade turnover in agrobusiness increased by 46.7% to $412.5 million.
Exports of domestic agricultural products increased by 62.2% up to $280.4 million, and imports from China increased by 22.2% to $132.1 million.
