Kazakhstan and Qatar discussed plans to increase the number of flights and establish a new flight route from Nur-Sulta to Doha, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.
During the meeting between the chairman of the Committee of Civil Aviation Talgat Lastayev and President of the Civil Aviation Authority Mohamed Faleh Alhajri along with Ambassador of Qatar Abdulaziz Sultan Al-Rumaihi, both parties agreed to expand the geography of flights between two countries.
Currently, Qatar Airways operates regular passenger flights on the route Doha-Almaty with a frequency of four flights a week. The new route should be operational in the spring-summer of 2023.
The sides also touched on the potential for Qatari investments in Kazakhstan, issues of bilateral cooperation, and training of aviation specialists.
