Putintseva, Bublik pass the first round of US Open 2022
Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan passed the first round after defeating Amanda Anisimova of the United States at the U.S. Open tennis tournament in New York.
The match lasted 1 hour and 19 minutes with the scores – 6:3, 6:3 – pronouncing Putintseva as the indisputable winner. She will go up against Germany’s Jule Niemeier in the second round.
The day before Putintseva, Elena Rybakina lost to France’s Clara Burel with a score of 4:6, 4:6.
In the men’s singles, Alexander Bublik advanced to the second round of the US Open after beating Hugo Gaston of France in three sets - 6:4, 6:4, 6:4.
The match lasted one hour and 46 minutes, during which Bublik served 13 forehand serves.
He will play Spain's Pablo Carreño Busta on September 1 (Nur-Sultan time).
TRACK CYCLING
Kazakhstan's track cycling team earned several of the top spots at GP Prostějov tournament in the Czech Republic
Artem Zakharov and Ramis Dinmukhametov each won a silver medal in the Madison race.
Zakharov finished third in the omnium and again third in the scratch race with his teammate Alisher Zhumakan in second place.
Rinata Sultanova wins gold at Asian Cup
Kazakhstan's track cycling team added a gold medal to the collection after Rinata Sultanova scored the highest number of points in the group race at the Asian Cup in Thailand.
The athlete also claimed bronze in the group elimination race.

Aibota Ertaikyzy earns five medals at the Gracia Fair Cup
Aibota Ertaikyzy competed at the Gracia Fair Cup in Budapest, Hungary, where she won a gold medal in the clubs routine. She took second place in the all-around and ribbon events. She also earned silver in the ball exercise and bronze in the hoop exercise.
Her teammate, Dilnaz Bailenova, took third place in the ball exercise.

Team Kazakhstan claimed seven medals at the Asian Junior Championships
The Asian Junior Taekwondo Championship ended in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam with the Kazakh team going home with seven medals.
Aidana Sundetbay (46 kg), Tamirlan Tleules (51 kg), Batyrkhan Tleugali (68 kg) and Nurasyl Kuandyk (78 kg) earned bronze medals in their respective weight categories.
On the final day, Bekarys Bekenov (+78kg) and Maria Sevostyanova (55kg) came in second place. Nazym Makhmutova (63 kg) earned the bronze medal.
Overall, that is two silvers and five bronzes for the Kazakh junior team.
