“Silk Road Hologram: Digital Tourism to Kazakhstan” high-tech exhibition was held at Shougang Industrial Park in Beijing, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to China Shakhrat Nuryshev welcomed guests at the event where he presented on Kazakhstan’s untapped tourism potential. He outlined the measures taken by the Kazakh Government to implement the State Tourism Development Programme until 2025.
Ambassador Nurushev emphasized that Kazakhstan pays great attention to the ongoing spread of coronavirus infection and seeks ways to harness innovative technologies and apply new alternative approaches to the field of digital tourism.
Visitors to the pavilion were able to use various high-tech gadgets to explore different aspects of what Kazakhstan has to offer. Using Virtual Reality (VR) headsets, the wearer can experience some of the most picturesque natural locations. Augmented Reality (AR) glasses helped explore Kazakh history and culture at the virtual exhibitions of the National Museum of Kazakhstan.
Among the honored guests of the event were the People's Republic of China (PRC) Government Special Envoy in Eurasia Region Liu Hui, Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Secretary-General Zhang Ming, and a former Ambassador of the PRC to Kazakhstan Yao Peisheng. The exhibition was also attended by numerous travel companies from China, as well as countries' business circles and the press.
Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan Dauren Abaev also took part in the event through a video message in which he talked about the development of Kazakhstan’s tourism industry.
The exhibition also included a section commemorating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and China. Guests were given the chance to use a special interactive touch panel to browse through a 30-year timeline of significant events that occurred between the two countries.
