The Aktau Asian Open among men and women came to a close with Team Kazakhstan finishing second, with five gold, seven silver and 13 bronze medals, Qazmonitor reports citing Olympic.kz.
Six countries - Kazakhstan, People's Republic of China, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Hong Kong (China), and Tajikistan - took part in the competition. Among 154 participants, 107 were men and 47 were women.
PCR took first place with seven gold, five silver and eight bronze medals. Mongolia came third, with one gold and two bronze medals, followed by Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, and Tajikistan.
According to the Federation, performance at the competition was rated: athletes were awarded 100 points for the gold medal, 70 points for the silver medal and 50 points for the bronze medal. Several Kazakh judokas have shown good results in the recent world ranking provided by International Judo Federation (IJF).
