Zhansaya Abdumalik Proves She's Third Strongest Chess Player

Individual rankings of chess players at Olympiad in India have been revealed

The 44th Chess Olympiad in Chennai officially ends today, August 10, with one last scoreboard revealed, this time for the individual ranks among more than 2,000 participants, Qazmonitor reports citing Tengrinews.

22-year-old Zhansaya Abdumalik has become a bronze medalist among top board players – who are the strongest representatives of each competing team.

Bibisara Asaubayeva placed 4th among the second boards. Ksenia Balabayeva ranked 16th among the third boards and Guliskhan Nakhbayeva also entered the top 20 with 11th place among the fourth boards.

As for the men’s team, three players became one of the best 20 in their respective categories. Alisher Suleimenov became 13th among second board players, Arystanbek Urazayev became 18th among fourth board players and Kazybek Nogerbek is 19th among fifth board players.

In the overall team standing, Kazakhstan placed 8th, with the women's team ranking 5th and the men's team ranking 17th.
