A Kazakh yurt was constructed on the Seaside Boulevard of Baku to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, Qazmonitor reports.
According to the ambassador of Kazakhstan Serzhan Abdykarimov, the project aims to strengthen the bond between two fraternal nations through shared cultural and spiritual values. It also seeks to promote the tourist potential of Kazakhstan with different cultural events and concerts listed as part of the scheduled program.
Visitors were presented with the opportunity to learn about the history of the Kazakh yurt and its significance in life on the steppes. The scheduled program included events and information sessions for people to get acquainted with the modern cultural infrastructure and tourist attractions of Kazakhstan, its history and traditions, music, and national dishes.
As an emphasis of the cultural connection of the two nations, the ceremony held a special book presentation of the "Anthology of Kazakh prose" in the Azerbaijani language by famous writer-translator and prose writer Nariman Abdulrakhmanuly. The collection includes works by 54 Kazakh authors, including Abay, Shakarim Kudaiberdiyev, Ilyas Dzhansugurov, Beimbet Mailin, and Mukhtar Auezov.
In terms of its tourism potential, Almaty and Shymkent, as well as the regions of Almaty, Turkestan and Mangistau, were represented at the event. Hotel "Kazakhstan", Shymbulak ski resort, Air Astana airlines, Baikonur Cosmodrome and Kyran Falconry Center were some of the notable stalls.
The highlight of the evening was the raffle of two roundtrip tickets from Baku to Almaty with accommodations at the Shymbulak resort hotel and Hotel "Kazakhstan".
