Kazakhstan's Deaf Dance Ensemble Wins Grand Prix in US Championships

'Sensitive' competed with over 3,000 participants from 72 countries

Deaf dance ensemble “Sensitive” from Petropavl won the Grand Prix at the World Championships in Anaheim, California, Qazmonitor reports. The 25th Anniversary World Performing Arts Championships attracted more than 3,000 competitors from 72 countries, including the USA, Canada, France, Ireland, Germany, Australia, and South Africa, who participated in the event from July 22 to July 31. 

In the video, the winners are seen waving their hands in celebration, an expression in sign language that is equivalent to clapping.

WCOPA is also often cited as the Talent Olympics. This year, it gathered contestants from 72 countries. The annual competition took place from July 22 to 30 in Anaheim, a city in Orange County, California, which is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
