The Kazakh government’s new national program aims to boost social assistance and create more than 2 million jobs by 2025, Qazmonitor reports with reference to Akorda press service.
At a July 28 meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov gave a report on the implementation of the national income growth program. According to the Deputy PM, 444,000 out of 2 million jobs will be offered this year. As of July 1, some 249,000 jobs were created.
Approximately 847 projects are planned for launch by 2025, with the aim of creating 266,000 positions in the manufacturing, petrochemical, and agricultural sectors.
The national program was said to have raised the monthly salaries of 240,000 employees in the quasi-public sector, 850,000 employees in the public sector, and 1.2 million corporate employees.
Tugzhanov also announced the government’s aim to provide more social support and tools to boost employment rates. The program increased the size of grants to support new business ideas by young entrepreneurs. Socially vulnerable citizens will now have opportunities to earn a stable income and more women will be able to benefit from employment assistance.
Social measures were considered to aid citizens with no income sources by creating jobs for them and providing opportunities to acquire new skills and improve existing ones.
At the end of the meeting, the President emphasized the importance the population’s income growth and called it the main priority of both national and local executive bodies.
