Kazakhstan plans to introduce an age limit for driving an electric scooter. This was reported by Zhandos Murataliyev, deputy chairman of the Administrative Police Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, QazMonitor reports citing the Committee.

Drivers of electric scooters will no longer be required to show a driver's license. The mandatory condition is that the driver riding an electric scooter on the road, on the road, bike lane, public transport lane, or sidewalk must be at least 16 years old.

Murataliyev also said that electric scooters must be equipped with headlights or reflectors to be clearly visible at night.

According to him, amendments will be made to the Law "On Road Traffic", traffic rules, as well as the Administrative Code.

Earlier in July, new standards and guidelines were set in Kazakhstan. According to the new rules, only one person may ride the electric scooter, and its speed may not exceed 25 kilometers per hour. To drive a scooter that accelerates faster than 50 kilometers per hour, you need an A1 category driver's license, just like for a moped.
