As of July 8, 2022, Kazakhstan introduced a unilateral visa-free regime for citizens of India, Iran and China. The special 72-hour visa-free regime for India and China is terminated, QazMonitor reports citing the Committee of migration service.
Under the terms of the visa-free regime, citizens of India, Iran and China will be able to enter and stay in Kazakhstan for up to 14 calendar days after crossing the border. Travel for private, tourist and business purposes is considered under the visa-free regime.
Visitors should keep in mind that the total period of stay in Kazakhstan under the visa-free regime should not exceed 42 calendar days within 180 days. Violation of this condition entails administrative responsibility of the foreigner:
Fine of 10 to 25 Minimum Calculation Indexes (from 30,630 to 76,575 tenge)
Arrest up to 15 days
Deportation from Kazakhstan
Ban on entering the country for 5 years (by court decision)
The visa-free regime does not give the right to work or any paid activity in Kazakhstan. In order to carry out labor activities in the country, it is necessary to obtain the appropriate work permit and visa from the inviting party (individual or legal entity).
