Kazakhstan Restricts Export: How Much Wheat Is Allowed to Be Sent Abroad?

Kazakhstan has introduced quotas on the export of wheat and meslin, wheat flour and rye flour until September 30 of this year, QazMonitor reports citing the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan press service.

By the Order of the Acting Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan from July 5, 2022 "On some issues of export of certain products from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan", quantitative restrictions (quotas) on the export of 550,000 tons of wheat and meslin and 370,000 tons of wheat flour and rye flour from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan to third countries and the Eurasian Economic Union countries.

The restrictions will take effect from July 8 until September 30, 2022.

Quantitative restrictions on the export of wheat and meslin, wheat flour and rye flour are introduced in order to ensure food security of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In this case, goods placed and released under the customs export procedure under the customs laws of Kazakhstan and the EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union) before the date of entry into force of the order are subject to unimpeded export from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
