Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport has been recognized as the best regional airport in Central Asia and CIS by World Airport Awards. The award was presented to representatives of the organization in the passenger terminal of the EXPO in Paris on June 16, Newtimes reports.
We congratulate Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport on its success in receiving this important award. The past two years have been extremely challenging for airports around the world, having to cope with the many constraints associated with COVID-19 and the dramatic drop in travel demand. As air traffic is rapidly returning to normal levels, the challenge of ensuring the highest standards is successfully met here at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport.
The World Airport Awards is the industry's most prestigious award, based on votes from customers from more than 100 countries in an annual global survey that is then analyzed over an eight-month period. The survey evaluates the quality of customer service at the airport and the effectiveness of key metrics - check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security/passport control at the gate.
"The award is considered a benchmark of quality, evaluating customer service and convenience at more than 550 airports worldwide. The survey was conducted independently, without the influence of the airports. We are glad to receive this award," said Gabit Tazhimuratov, Chairman of the Board of Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport JSC.
In turn, Talgat Lastayev, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of MIIR RK, praised the airport staff and employees of the committee who ensure passengers have a comfortable travel experience.
The top 10 list of the best airports in Central Asia and CIS also includes Almaty (No.2) and Atyrau (No.5) airports.
