Kazakh weightlifters so far showed incredible results with three gold and two bronze medal wins at the IWF Youth World Championship in León, Mexico, Vesti.kz reports. The championship will run until June 18.
The first two golds came on the third and fourth day of the championship. Yerassyl Saulebekov lifted 123 kg during his third attempt and won the gold medal in snatch in the male 67 kg category. The next day, Yedige Yemberdi (73 kg) broke the world record in this modality with an amazing 172 kg clean and jerk and 134kg snatch. Yermerdi lifted a total of 306 kg.
Denis Poluboyarinov (81 kg) lifted a total of 323 (143+180) kg bringing Kazakhstan its third gold.
Yerasyl Umarov (55kg) and Alexandra Belenko (40 kg) are taking home a bronze medal each.
