The national women's rugby team of Kazakhstan has become the champion of the Amsterdam Rugby Sevens tournament. In the final match against Poland Development Team, Kazakh athletes dominated the game with the final score 12-5.
The competition took place June 3-5 in the Netherlands, where 12 women's teams competed for the title. Besides Kazakhstan, the geography of the tournament included teams from France, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, and the United States. The male section of the tournament boasted 38 teams.
Prior to the finals, the Kazakh team had solid wins by defeating two Dutch teams: Dutchband als je voor Cas bent (54-0), and AAC Ladies 1 (48-0). The victory in the title battle proved to be a great comeback displayed by the Kazakh team as it had lost to Poland Development Team 0-27 a day before the finals.

The Amsterdam Sevens is an internationals tournament that has been hosted since 1972. Apart from the competition segment, the event is famous for theme parties and festivals held for the fans. This year the event's theme was Big Bang, promising a prize for the most creative outfit.
