The national referendum on the amendments to the Constitution took place on June 5, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time. A total of 10,012 polling stations were opened in every settlement of Kazakhstan, as well as in embassies and consulates in 52 countries.

There was only one question on the ballot: "Do you accept the amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan (in total there are 56 amendments to be submitted to the referendum), stated in the draft law "On amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

For a referendum to be valid, more than half of the eligible voters must vote. The turnout threshold was reached as of 2 p.m. Nur-Sultan time.
