Kazakhstan's women's national team made a huge leap from 16th to 9th place in the updated ranking of the Billie Jean King Cup, Kazakhstan Tennis Federation reports. This marks the first time for our team to enter the top 10 list, beating countries, like Russia, Italy, Romania, Belgium, Poland, and Germany, which ranks 10th.
Team Kazakhstan defeated Germany 3-1 in the World Team Cup qualifier in April and advanced to the final round of the tournament in November.
Australia remains the leader of the world ranking.
