Kazakhstan and Turkey Agree on Military Cooperation

President Tokayev got acquainted with investment projects of Turkish businessmen in Kazakhstan

During President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's state visit to the Republic of Turkey on May 10, the Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, Colonel-General Ruslan Zhaksylykov, met with the Minister of Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar, the press service of the Defense Ministry reports.

Defense and economy

Kazakhstan and Turkey have already signed a number of documents regulating bilateral military cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey. Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov visited the Center of Special Operations Forces of the Turkish Armed Forces. In addition, the head of Kazakhstan's defense ministry met with Suleyman Soylu, Minister of Interior of the Republic of Turkey.

The press service of Akorda also highlighted that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev became more familiar with major investment projects that were implemented by Turkish businessmen in Kazakhstan.

At a specialized exhibition, Kazakh Ambassador to Turkey Yerkebulan Sapiyev informed the president about the joint projects.

  • TAV Havalimanlari Holding for construction of a new international terminal of Almaty airport. 

  • Almaty, Kayatürk Group - in construction of trade center, 

  • Koç Holding - in the production of agricultural products, 

  • Atabay Kimya Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS - in the production of pharmaceutical products, 

  • Panelsan - in the production of sandwich panels, 

  • Isiklar - in the production of paper products, 

  • Çalık Holding - in exploration and production of agricultural products, 

  • Goknur Gida - in the production of horticultural products.

Previously, it has been announced that Tokayev has already signed a joint agreement on strengthening Kazakhstan's strategic partnership with Turkey.
