Almaty Kids Won Robotics Award at World Final in Texas

FIRST Lego League comes to an end with a win for Kazakhstan

Young robotics engineers from Kazakhstan made their country proud as they snagged a prize at a popular robotics championship in the United States. The team of four won the Challenge Solution Award for "Best Project Solution" at Robotics World Championship First Lego League in the age group from 7 to 9 years old, according to the LEAS Center for Continuing Education.

This year's theme was freight transportation and the participants were school students from around the world.

The winning crew call themselves 4D Team, as all four members’ names start with the same letter: Diar Aibar, Danial Muratov, Demid Boborenko, and Daniel Kim.  

The Kazakhstani youngsters proposed a way to optimize freight transportation with a project that involves a train with drones. The boys showed great confidence and presented their project in English to the jury and other participants with practiced ease. 

Some sponsoring companies have already expressed their interests in the project, most notable one being Google. The company representatives even invited the champions to work for them as engineers in the future.  

The FIRST robotics is an international franchise that hosts one of the most prestigious robotics tournaments for school children in the world. 38,000 international teams participate in the competition each year.
