The Kazakh American community opens the first Kazakh school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Language and culture
Children from 6 to 16 years old will study the Kazakh language, customs, and traditions. They will also be taught how to play on the dombra.
The school for Kazakhs in the United States was established by Zhuldyzai Ismailova, president of the Kazakh American Association.
"In the holy month of Ramadan, with the support of the Kazakh American community, we opened our first Kazakh school in Philadelphia. The Kazakh language will be studied intensively. We will be introducing children to the dombra. We will sing our country's anthem and surahs from the Koran. May luck be on our side."
