Ambassador of Hungary to Kazakhstan Otto Ivan Rona stated in a meeting with the minister of education and science Askhat Aymagambetov that Hungarian universities regard Kazakh students to have discipline, good knowledge, and high English proficiency.

"Hungarian universities compete for Kazakh students. For example, just yesterday I received a letter from the rector of the University of Agrarian Sciences, which wants to increase the number of students studying at its university to 30 people as part of the scholarship. It's encouraging because it shows that there's satisfaction on the part of the faculty, the rectors. And we will make efforts to further develop this program."

He added that the scientific community is also interested in cooperation.

In turn, Aymagambetov noted opportunities for joint scientific research, especially in the field of archaeology, history, and nuclear physics.

Hungary annually allocates 250 educational grants to Kazakhstani citizens through the “Stipendium Hungaricum” scholarship program. The program covers the costs of the Hungarian language courses, academic tuition, accommodation in a hostel, health insurance, and a monthly stipend. Courses are taught in English and Hungarian. Applicants undergo a one-year study of the Hungarian language if they choose to study in Hungarian, after which they study in the program of their choice.
