Russia to Hold CSTO Meeting on Threats to Military Security

Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Armenia, and Belarus to participate

Russia will be organizing a video conference for the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) on April 14, 2022. The meeting will be attended by the chiefs of staff of the armed forces of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Armenia, and Belarus.

The agenda includes a discussion on the development of military cooperation, such as:

  • challenges and threats to military security in CSTO regions;

  • issues related to the improvement of crisis response and organization of international aviation flights of the armed forces of the CSTO member states;

  • measures of joint preparations of commanding bodies and formations of forces and resources of the collective security system of the CSTO in 2022.

The meeting will be led by Valery Gerasimov—Chairman of the Military Committee, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation.
