The Kazakh film industry will participate in Marche Du Film, one of the largest film markets globally, aiming to improve the image of the local industry on the international stage, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of Kazakh Cinema.
Marche Du Film: Established in 1959, the event is an international film market held annually in conjunction with the Cannes Film Festival. Its primary objective is to facilitate networking among professionals in the film industry and foster the growth of international business in film adaptation rights. Marche Du Film and the 77th Cannes Film Festival are scheduled to take place from May 14 to May 22 (May 25 for the festival).
The Kazakh delegation will be represented by the State Center for Support of National Cinema (Kazakh Cinema). This marks the Center’s first participation in Marche Du Film.
The main objectives of the delegation include building the image of Kazakh film production, attracting foreign partners for joint projects, and promoting domestic film locations outside the country.
The delegation will also focus on popularizing the rebate system for foreign film production, which is stipulated in the national legislation on cinema.
