Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpaev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Hamza Al-Omari, QazMonitor reports, citing the press service of the Ministry.
Agenda: The parties discussed potential cooperation in the sports industry, readiness to exchange experiences in tourism development, measures of state support for this industry, and other aspects that stimulate entrepreneurial activity.
In 2023, 1,130 tourists from Jordan visited Kazakhstan.
"Today, Kazakh-Jordanian relations are dynamically developing and have a multifaceted nature. The Kingdom is among our closest and most reliable allies in the Middle East region. Unfortunately, the indicators of tourist flow between our countries remain at a rather low level. This is due to the lack of direct flights and visa requirements. To increase this indicator and foster further development of cooperation, we need to address these issues," said Minister Marzhikpaev.
The Minister invited the Ambassador to personally participate in the official opening ceremony of the Fifth World Nomad Games, where the Jordanian national team is expected to take an active part.
