What happened: On April 30, during a meeting of the board on space industry development for 2023-2029, the Space Ministry announced that the Kokterek Space Communications Center is nearing completion of a gateway for the OneWeb communications network. As a result, 328 villages will have broadband Internet via satellite connection.

They operate a constellation of 542 out of 648 small satellites planned by January 2023, aiming to deliver high-speed broadband to rural and isolated areas.
