Kazakhstan, Finland Plan to Launch 11 New Production Facilities

The total cost of the projects is estimated at 32.5 billion tenge

Kazakhstan and Finland announced plans to launch 11 new production facilities with an investment totaling 32.5 billion tenge, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Construction.

What happened: Vice Minister of Industry and Construction Zhannat Dubirova disclosed this development during the 13th meeting of the Kazakh-Finnish Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation on April 11th.

The Vice-Minister emphasized, "By 2027, we plan to launch about 11 new production facilities in the woodworking industry, amounting to 32.5 billion tenge and creating 1,400 jobs."

Highlighting the progress in Kazakh-Finnish relations within the woodworking industry, Vice Minister Dubirova pointed out a significant increase to $14.3 million in 2023. Additionally, the Vice-Minister shared data indicating a 31% rise in investments in woodworking, reaching 3.3 billion tenge.

About the meeting: Key figures present at the meeting included Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Yerlan Nyssanbayev, RK Ambassador to Finland Zhanna Sartbayeva, and Vice Minister of Transport Talgat Lastayev representing Kazakhstan.

From the Finnish side, Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Tavio, diplomatic advisor to the Ministry Mikko Autt, and Ambassador to Kazakhstan Soili Mäkeläinen-Bukhanist took part in the meeting.
