Kazakhstan, Macao Sign Visa Waiver Agreement

On April 9, the governments of Kazakhstan and Macao agreed to launch a mutual visa-free regime, QazMonitor reports citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

What happened: Ambassador to China Shakhrat Nuryshev met with Cheong Weng Chon, Secretary for Administration and Justice of the Macao Special Administrative Region of China.

  • The parties signed an agreement for mutual visa exemption for up to 14 days. The document will come into effect after domestic procedures are completed.

  • Additionally, the ambassador met with the region’s Chief Executive, Ho Iat Seng, and the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Liu Xianfa, to discuss cooperation within the framework of the ongoing Kazakhstan tourism year in China.
