President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Uzbekistan on a working trip. Akorda press service reported that he was received by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at Urgench airport.
Agenda: The visit's agenda includes an informal meeting between the leaders of the two nations, followed by a joint exploration of enterprises and cultural sites in Khiva.
Earlier, Akorda reported that the heads of state planned to discuss a broad spectrum of bilateral relations issues, as well as the regional agenda.
Big picture: The bilateral trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan had reached $4.5 billion by the end of last year.
Within the framework of industrial cooperation, 60 projects totaling $2.6 billion are underway with over 13,300 jobs to be created. Additional 43 projects hold promise for further collaboration.
The International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia" is expected to enable expanding bilateral trade potential.
Kazakhstan is ready to expand its exports to Uzbekistan across 255 items, totaling nearly $500 million.
