Rhythmic gymnast Elzhana Taniyeva clutched a gold medal in a ball routine at the Grand Prix Marbella 2024 in Spain, QazMonitor reports.
What happened: March 8–10, the Spanish city of Marbella hosted the second stage of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Grand Prix circuit. Taniyeva’s performance in the finals was rated at 33.400 points, placing her ahead of Takhmina Ikromova (32.600) from Uzbekistan and Ekaterina Vedeneeva (32.200) from Slovenia. The Kazakh gymnast also performed the Tumar Rukhy (Charms) exhibition routine based on folklore motifs.
Kazakhstan at Grand Prix circuit 2024: Taniyeva’s gold is the third medal for the national team this year. Earlier, Aibota Yertaikyzy won silver in a ball routine and bronze in a hoop routine at the 2024 Miss Valentine Tartu Grand Prix in Estonia.
