Today, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia Abdulaziz bin Salman Al-Saud, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of Akorda.
During the meeting in Astana, the parties discussed prospects for the development of energy and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.
Bilateral cooperation: The President noted that Kazakh-Saudi relations have reached an unprecedented level. The President said that agreements with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud, gave an impetus to bilateral cooperation in all sectors.
Close ties: The President and Saudi Minister of Energy confirmed commitment to the agreements and cooperation between the two countries.

The visit was truly successful. We have reached agreements on many issues, primarily on cooperation in such a key area as energy. I am confident in the bright future of our relations. Results: Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi company ACWA Power, Mohammad Abunayyan, who took part in the meeting, spoke about the prospects of a joint investment project for the construction of a 1GW wind power plant in the Zhetysu region, as well as cooperation plans in the field of “green” energy.
The governments of the two countries signed an agreement on the implementation of a joint project for the construction of a wind power plant.
