Over half of the humanitarian aid sent by Kazakhstan was food, totaling $2.8 million, marking a significant increase of 44.1% y/y. Clothing and footwear donations amounted to $244.7 thousand, a third less than in 2022. Another $89.7 thousand was allocated for machinery and equipment, reflecting a decrease of 33.9%. The remaining portion, totaling $1.8 million, was attributed to other goods.
Aid received and who sent it: Nearly half of the humanitarian aid received by Kazakhstan in January-December 2023 was medicines, totaling $12.1 million (a 3.7% rise compared to 2022 figure). Another $501.1 thousand was in the form of clothing and footwear, marking a decrease of 2.2 times y/y.
