Gennady Golovkin expressed his thoughts on the results of the two fights against Mexican Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez before their upcoming face-off.

Their first fight took place in September 2017 in Las Vegas (USA) and ended in a controversial draw. At the same place a year later, Canelo won by majority decision.

"The results of the first two fights don't bother me," Golovkin told DAZN. “I don't feel any pressure at all. I only look forward because the past is past.”

“If the third fight with Canelo happens, I'm definitely going in with a clear head, without obsessing over making up for past mistakes. I'm not in boxing to prove anything to anybody. I don't need a special win. I'm continuing my career because I feel great."

Before the match with Canelo, Golovkin will fight in Saitama, Japan on April 9 in a unification bout with Ryota Murata of Japan, the WBA middleweight "super-champion".

Canelo will fight undefeated WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol of Russia in May.
