Three Industrial Projects Totalling $10.7M Launch in Turkistan Region

On January 25, the Turkistan regional administration reported the launch of three industrial projects in the area, including the construction of a plant for the production of sandwich panels, a furniture factory, and a joint Kazakh-Chinese enterprise for the production of socks and hosiery, QazMonitor reports citing the region's press service.

In the Turan Special Economic Zone, the local metal construction company, Panel Sistem KZT, commenced the construction of a plant for the production of sandwich panels for the local market. The project is valued at ₸1.54 billion (as of January 25, 2024, $3.4 million). The plant is projected to annually produce 250,000 square meters of products, creating thirty job positions. In addition to sandwich panels, the enterprise will manufacture corrugated sheets and metal tiles. The company aims to commission the plant over the year.

Furthermore, the Turkistan industrial zone inaugurated furniture manufacturing with a daily capacity of 600 units of furniture. The project is valued at ₸2.3 billion ($5.1 million) and is expected to create fifty jobs.

Another venture in the Turkistan industrial zone is a joint Kazakh-Chinese enterprise for the production of socks and hosiery. This project, valued at ₸1 billion ($2.2 million), will create thirty jobs. The enterprise's planned daily capacity is 32,000 pairs of socks. Upon reaching full capacity at the hosiery production factory, investors plan to implement a project for suit production, with an investment of ₸2.8 billion ($6.2 million). The proposed factory is anticipated to have a daily capacity of 500 suits.
