On January 24-25, Astana will host the 21st International Meeting on Syria in the Astana format, QazMonitor reports citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Delegations from Russia, Turkey, and Iran, along with representatives from the Government of Syria and the Syrian opposition, will engage in negotiations. The event will also see the participation of observers from Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon, in addition to representatives from the United Nations, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The agenda will include discussions on the development of the regional situation around Syria, efforts for a comprehensive settlement in the Syrian Arab Republic (SAR), the humanitarian situation in Syria, and the mobilization of international efforts to support the post-conflict recovery of Syria, among other topics.
