Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Federico Vecchioni, the CEO of an Italian agricultural holding Bonifiche Ferraresi, during his official visit to Rome, QazMonitor reports citing Akorda's press service.

The discussions focused on the potential implementation of investment projects in Kazakhstan's agricultural sector. President Tokayev highlighted Kazakhstan's role as a leading wheat producer and a major wheat supplier to Italy. He also expressed intentions to enhance grain processing capabilities within the country.

Federico Vecchioni outlined the company's intentions to execute projects involving the cultivation of grain crops utilizing Italian technologies, followed by comprehensive processing in Kazakhstan. The proposed initiatives include specialized training programs and technology transfer.

In turn, President Tokayev assured the company of the government's full support for these initiatives.

Additionally, the Italian company was invited to explore opportunities for collaborative projects in developing intensive horticulture and seed production.
