Kazakhstan Negotiates Legal Employment of Citizens in South Korea

Officials discussed the introduction of the Employment Permit System for Kazakh citizens

The officials of Kazakhstan and South Korea discuss the prospect of including Kazakhstan in the South Korean Employment Permit System (EPS). This initiative aims to grant Kazakh citizens the legal right to work in South Korea, ensuring they receive equal working conditions and the protection of their rights, the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population reports.

Representatives from the Ministry, South Korean Ministry of Labor and Employment recently engaged in online negotiations on the EPS introduction.

The meeting saw the participation of Askarbek Yrtaev, Chairman of the Committee on Migration, Saadat Assanseitova, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Integration of the Ministry, and Myung Sung-Ho, Deputy Director of the Office for Foreign Workforce at the Ministry of Employment and Labor of the Republic of Korea.

During the session, Askarbek Yertaev briefed the participants on the ongoing efforts to establish a Korean training center within the EPS system in Kazakhstan. Additionally, the parties explored the feasibility of opening an EPS center in Kazakhstan, expressing their readiness for fruitful and constructive collaboration to expand bilateral cooperation in the realm of labor migration.
